About Nightingale

Learn biostatistics with clear explanations, illustrative code, and honest limits.

What is Nightingale?

Nightingale is an AI tutor for biostatistics and data science. It helps students and researchers reason about study design, choose statistical methods, and interpret results. It consults statistical reference material and explains when relevant sources are unavailable.

Our Core Mission

Learn the reasoning behind a method, its assumptions, and how to report it. When a specific method is introduced, Nightingale provides an illustrative R example and an APA reporting template. Python examples are available when explicitly requested.

Learning through examples

Describe your study in words or ask for help interpreting output you ran yourself. Demonstrations use independently generated illustrative data. Dataset uploads, analysis of your raw data, and finished homework answers are not supported in this teaching release.

A Commitment to Integrity

Nightingale is designed to explain uncertainty, avoid invented results and citations, and distinguish association from causation. It can still make mistakes. Check important conclusions and references with your instructor or a qualified statistician.
